Benjamin Hackman

Benjamin Hackman is a poet and writer.

Most recently, his work has appeared in periodicals such as Canadian Literature, The Maple Tree Literary Supplement, and The Literary Review of Canada, as well as in Yiddish in the The Yiddish Forward in New York. He is the co-founder of The Molotov Rag, Toronto’s Anarchist Quarterly, and served as editor-in-chief for the magazine’s first five print issues.

“Benjy’s Education”, is a sample track from “The Benjy Poems”. A verse-memoir about the relationship between a man and his beleaguered inner child, The Benjy Poems blurs the line between poetry and radio drama, as Toronto poet, Benjamin Hackman, attempts to make sense of a family saga laden with domestic abuse.
